Creating a flourishing garden doesn't have to break the bank, as one gardening expert has proven with her budget-friendly homemade fertiliser recipe.
Instagrammer Green Garden, known as @green_garden113, has shared a simple yet effective technique using just two household staples that might already be sitting in your kitchen.
All you need is white vinegar and banana peels, which together cost a mere £1.23 at Asda, making it an accessible solution for plant enthusiasts on a budget.
White vinegar, priced at £1.09, is combined with humble bananas, available for just 14p, to concoct a potent fertiliser that promotes lush, vibrant green leaves.
Fertilising flower beds can normally be a costly endeavour, but this expert’s method proves that effective plant care doesn't have to come with a hefty price tag.
In a video shared with her followers, the eco-conscious gardener encourages viewers to rethink tossing out banana peels, as they can serve as a valuable resource for plant nutrition.
She explained the process is straightforward, slice banana peels into small pieces and pour hot water over them to initiate fermentation.

After a day of soaking, strain the liquid, and add a dash of distilled white vinegar to enhance nutrient decomposition from the banana peels.
Once the concoction is ready, just pour it into the soil of potted plants.
For an added boost, Green Garden suggests transferring the solution into a spray bottle and applying it directly to the plant's leaves.
According to the expert, this method stimulates new growth, resulting in vibrant green leaves that enhance the beauty of any garden.
