A garden expert has revealed how to grow raspberries from supermarket punnets.
Simon Akeroyd, gardening author and former garden manager for RHS and National Trust, took to social media to share his tips and tricks.
He walked viewers through the process, which started with a punnet of raspberries from the supermarket.
First, he squished the raspberries and spread them over kitchen paper. He then left this to dry “for a few days” to reveal the seeds.
Next, Akeroyd took the plastic supermarket punnet and filled it with peat-free compost before trimming the kitchen paper covered with seeds in a shape to fit the container.

He placed it on the soil and covered it with more compost, leaving it on a sunny windowsill to germinate.
Alternatively, the kitchen paper with the seeds on it can be ripped into pieces and planted outside in soil or put into large pots.
Commenters thanked Akeroyd for the video with many asking for tips on how often to water the plants and what kind of conditions they need to thrive.
