With the sun beginning to shine, many Brits are starting to tend to their gardens and some have praised a strimmer "perfect" for tearing through large patches of brambles and weeds.

The LOFIR 21V Cordless Strimmer is highy rated by Amazon shoppers as a "lightweight yet potent" gardening tool. It's currently available for a reasonable £68.89 - the device is equipped with two rechargeable 2000mAh high-capacity 21V lithium batteries so you can trim the grass without running out of power.

It comes with a 500W motor that supports speeds of 8,300 revs per minute and you can switch between three types of blades to tackle weeds or brambles - the plastic blades are ideal for mowing soft grass, and the stainless steel blades are great to cut through thick tangles.

Inside the box also includes a manganese steel circular saw blade for chopping small shrubs and branches - and the absence of a wire means no snapping and replacing your line every few minutes.

Nearly 600 shoppers have tested the strimmer and many praised it for its ease of use, good selection of blades and battery life. One happy shopper, wrote: "Lightweight, easy to assemble effective range of cutters. Two batteries! Plus secateurs and saw gloves and eye protection. Excellent value for the money. Useful strimmer."

While a second added: "It's lightweight and easy to use. Easy to put together. Battery lasted long enough to complete strimming all the grass at the side of my house without it running out. The plastic grass blades break really easily but the metal blades are great. I was surprised at the ease of use and how quickly I got the job done."

A impressed third, said: "Lightweight yet powerful. The rotary saw blade ripped through my brambles with ease; quite a large patch despatched remarkably quickly, whole range of attachments provided, and spare battery too. What's not to like!"

But one decided to return his and explained: "Despite this having many cutting options, it didn't do very well in my garden, it didn't have the torque or power to do what my old corded Bosch would do, so returned it. For very light work its pretty good and doesn't weigh too much either, so not slating it."

A second added: "It worked well for the late summer and autumn. It was stored over winter in a frost free shed. I come to use it this spring and well nothing, nada. I thought at first it must be the batteries and perhaps they had lost charge over winter."
