Hydrangeas get an ‘amazing boost’ that guarantees ‘glorious flowers’ with one monthly task
With its colourful blooms and bright green foliage, the hydrangea bush is one of the most popular garden choices. However, many struggle to get their plant thriving.
Hydrangeas are arguably one of the most popular garden plants, but they are also one of the most misunderstood plants.
In fact, it has certainly frustrated many a gardener when it comes to getting them to bloom consistently, year after year.
Bust as it turns out, much of that frustration stems from the bush being fertilised incorrectly.
The great news is that fertilising your hydrangeas isn’t difficult nor is it time-consuming.
Taking to his TikTok page @garden_with_tom, gardening expert Tom Strowlger has shared how he gives his hydrangeas a “healthy boost” with fertiliser.

The expert explained that the “goodness” of the fertiliser will go straight into the roots and “give hydrangeas an amazing boost” and those “flowers will be glorious”.
Tom added that he does this essential task once a month throughout the growing season for “the best results”.
For those who have hydrangeas that struggle to bloom even after fertilising, it might have nothing to do with the power of fertiliser.
When hydrangeas lack flower power, it’s often because they are not being pruned at the correct time.
It’s best to always prune hydrangeas after they finish blooming. This eliminates the chance of cutting off future blooms later.
