They reckon 52 percent have experienced a headache disorder within a given year. Almost twice as many women (17 percent) suffer migraines as men (8.6 percent). Six percent of females have a headache 15 or more days per month but for males it was 2.9 percent.

All types of headache were more common in women but most markedly migraines.
The Norwegian University of Science and Technology reviewed 357 studies.
Professor Lars Jacob Stovner said: “Overall, headache disorders are highly prevalent worldwide and can be a high burden.”
The findings were published in The Journal of Headache and Pain.
