Why we need a 27-hour day
OUR weekends are so busy we need 27-hour days to fit it all in, reveals a survey.
By the time we’ve spent 12 hours of a Saturday or Sunday indulging in favourite activities like seeing friends, going to a film or a restaurant, we need an extra two and a half hours for admin and 12 and a half hours for sleeping, washing and eating.
The survey, for insurers Direct Line, also reveals that 26 per cent of Britons end up feeling too tired to enjoy things that should be fun.
Exhaustion is cited as the reason we don’t tend to try new activities.
Even when we do get time to unwind, 82 per cent admit to checking work-related emails.
Matt Owen, of Direct Line, said: “We often miss out on balancing the valuable things we have to complete in order to keep moving forwards with our lives.”
