How often do you clean your home? Are you more likely to clean as you go along or do you prefer to do it all in one go?
If you’re like us who likes to do it in one sweep then you’ll be pleased to know about these cleaning hacks.
Nancy Emery, a cleaning expert at Tap Warehouse has shared her five low-cost, cupboard staples to get your home gleaming.
Coffee
If you like your morning coffee then you’ll be pleased to know that it does more than wake you up.
Nancy said: "You can use instant coffee grounds to remove tough stains on your countertops. Simply sprinkle a teaspoon of instant coffee grounds into a half cup of hot, soapy water and use this solution to get rid of the stain.
"Coffee works to help cut through grime because of its acidity, which makes it the perfect everyday item to help keep your homes spotless."

Tea bags
A staple in British homes we can’t go a day without a cup of tea.
Nancy suggested: "For all the tea drinkers, it’s not just coffee you can use to remove stubborn stains, but tea bags are also a great natural product that can be used as part of your spring cleaning routine.
“To get rid of burnt-in stains and grime on oven dishes and other non-electrical appliances, soak them in the sink overnight with a few tea bags and this should help bring back that gorgeous shine they once had.”
It turns out there is an ingredient in the tea bag called tannins which can naturally “degrease and loosen the food grime”.
Lemon
We all know lemon has plenty of health benefits and is a great natural cleaning ingredient.
"Many of us would have heard about the benefits of using lemons when it comes to cleaning, but here are a few tips for removing limescale on your taps and getting rid of stains,” Ms Emery said.
She added: "To get rid of limescale on your taps, you’ll need to make up a 75/25 solution of lemon juice and water. All you need to do is use a soft sponge and gently scrub the solution, leaving it on the tap to dissolve the limescale deposits for 30 minutes. Once the time is up, rinse thoroughly with water.”
Lemon can also be great for descaling your kettle. All you have to do is cut a lemon in half and put it inside the kettle. Then fill the kettle half to three-quarters full with water. Once it's boiled, let it sit for 10 minutes and then boil again.
The expert added: “Squeeze some lemon juice on top of countertop stains and let this sit for a couple of minutes. Don’t let it sit for longer than two minutes, as lemons are quite acidic. Add a little bit of baking soda on top and use a damp cloth to scrub the stain away.

Mayonnaise
Something which you wouldn't normally expect to be a key cleaning ingredient.
Nancy said: “It works wonders to remove ring marks on wooden tables left from cups and glasses.
"Squeeze a pea-sized amount of the condiment onto a piece of kitchen roll and place it on the stain. Apply a small amount of pressure before leaving it on the stain for 20 minutes. Once you’ve done this, buff the area with a clean cloth."
Ketchup
It’s not just for your burger or your chips.
Ms Emery suggested: "To bring back and buff up your copper cookware, apply ketchup to a clean cloth and using a circular motion, scrub the tarnished areas of your pots and pans.
"Whilst this is a very effective method, you may however want to get your rooms smelling of something other than ketchup, so it’s beneficial to use some citrus fruits to make your home smell fresh, fragrant and refreshing."
