Tesco customer reveals hidden detail with Clubcard hack

It seems many Tesco shoppers have been missing out on a money-saving trick linked to hidden codes on Clubcard special offers.

A little-known Tesco Clubcard feature reveals a hidden detail about special offers.

It's a money-saving trick that it seems many shoppers have been missing out on for years. Discounts available only to Tesco cardholders incentivise shoppers to snap up yellow-labelled price cuts - and rack up Clubcard points.

Now, a savvy shopper has revealed a way to discover how long these  Tesco special offers will last. And it's all to do with an easy-to-decipher code.

Content creator Gemma Bird, AKA @moneymumofficial, shared the simple trick on TikTok. Gemma's video draws shopper's attention to a code on all Clubcard offers.

She explained how the six-digit figure shows when the offer is due to expire. Using an example found in a  Tesco store, she said an item with the code 230704 means the offer is valid until July 4, 2023.  

Tesco Clubcard points are a great way to save money on your shopping. However, you can also double their value this summer.

 Tesco's Reward Partners allows you to get 2x their clubcard voucher value for days out - and days in - with more than 100 partners. This includes money-off deals with the likes of Disney+, Cineworld, Pizza Express and Alton Towers.

However, it's not all good news for Tesco shoppers, customers who use the supermarket to save money with a Tesco Clubcard have been warned they are £144 worse off on average over a year based on the latest price comparisons.

Supermarket shoppers who stick with Tesco or Asda are being told it's costing them £12 or more per shop, or £144 across a monthly shop for a year, according to consumer magazine Which? figures. Which? unveiled its supermarket price comparison analysis for June 2024 - and for the first time has incorporated the impact of loyalty cards including Tesco Clubcards and the Sainsbury's Nectar Card on the price of a typical food shop.
