A woman in her 50s has taken to TikTok to slam "magical" anti-ageing creams that sell women dreams of looking younger as they get older.

The creator, who goes by the name of @Beaux on the social media platform, has shared her anti-ageing tricks which she swears by and has said made her look 10 years younger.

She discussed whether you should be drinking alcohol, getting botulinum toxin injections and exercising. The creator has shared her unpopular tips which beauty lovers may be surprised to hear.

Opening her video before sharing her tips, she said: "I have no business handing them [these tips] out because I did not institute these things myself until I was probably in my late 40s, but they do work and I probably took a good 10 years off of the way I look."

She continued: "It's not going to be popular because it's not something you can buy and apply on your face five minutes before you go to bed at night. There is no product out there that's going to do that for you."

There is a large stigma and debate around whether people should get botulinum toxin injections, however, this creator swears by getting the cosmetic procedure. She said: "I don't care what anybody says [...] If you look young for your age and you are 45 and up, honey you've had a facelift or you've had botulinum toxin injections.

"You do not need to do it preventively when you are younger. That is a waste. It's sort of like people getting braces when you're nine and getting them again when you're 13, it doesn't do anything different. You still have to have them at 13.

"Start doing it in your mid-40s, when your face starts to wrinkle, trust me when I tell you this will be the best beauty investment that you ever make."

Botulinum toxin injections can smooth wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that cause them and are guaranteed to fix them. However, face creams are hit-and-miss for beauty lovers - they show results for some but not for others.

Beaux added: "Ditch the expensive creams, ditch all of that stuff. It doesn't work. It's all temporary."

Her second tip was not to drink any alcohol. A 2022 genetic study published in Molecular Psychiatry suggests that alcohol speeds up ageing by damaging DNA.

Beaux shared: "If you want to age yourself faster, drink alcohol. That is the number one way to look older before your time. I know it's unpopular, everyone likes to drink - I even myself drink occasionally but let me tell you how horrifying I look after just two drinks."

The woman's third method was to exercise consistently. She shared: "It makes your body look a full decade younger at least. It reverse-ages your face and it will reverse-age your brain which is probably the most important thing."

To conclude she wrapped up her video by bluntly stating: "I'm sorry that's it, I wish I could tell [you] that there was a magical potion or cream that would work. There isn't."
