Luxury bathroom experts have shared the seven shades to "never" paint your bathroom. According to the pros, some of these can be too overbearing.

Andy Ellis from Poshh.co.uk said: “It’s important to make the bathroom a calm and relaxing space but there are certain colours which can interrupt this atmosphere.
“White is a very popular bathroom colour but picking a bright shade makes marks more prominent. Instead, it’s best to pick a softer shade to avoid a cold and harsh look.
“Incorporating colours is a great way to add character to your space but overusing reds, greens and blues can make the space look overbearing.
“If you’re unsure, the best way to incorporate colours is by doing so through small accents.
“This can be through towels or other bathroom decor like tray organisers and candles.”
According to the expert, as well as avoiding white paint in the bathroom, there are six other colours Britons should “never” paint the bathroom.
This includes red which can be too overpowering and intense in a bathroom, especially if it is quite small in size.
If wanting to add reds, do so through small accents such as towels, ornaments or decor pieces.
The expert added: “Although blue seems like a natural colour, it can give a bathroom a cold and hard look.

“You can still opt for blues, but try to pick a softer shade. Dark bathrooms, such as black, are popular and can look expensive, but it can be hard to get them right.
“Instead, consider adding black throughout the bathroom in other ways. Painting it all black can draw the space inward and make it appear dark and dreary.”
Britons should also steer clear of dark browns which can make the room look “outdated”, according to the expert.
This is especially true when the colour is incorporated into tiles and cabinetry so make sure toot for lighter shades to achieve an earthy, modern look.
Andy continued: “Grey is another colour to be careful within your bathroom.
“Small accents of grey can help your space look high end but too much can make the bathroom look dull and ruin the lighting.
“Although green can be associated with nature, bright shades may be too intense in the bathroom.
“To create a calming space, opt for accents of darker, emerald tones of green.”
