The Apple Watch Ultra has taken the world by storm after Apple released the device in 2022 after months of speculation that a bigger and more powerful watch would release.
It’s now January 2024 and Apple has released another iteration of the Apple Watch – the Apple Watch 2 which came out in 2023 with better brightness and new features.
But if you have been looking for a smartwatch to go with your shiny new iPhone, then look no further as we have complied the best deals around right now.

What’s new with the Apple Watch Ultra?
The new Apple Watch Ultra brought a considerable number of changes to Apple’s smartwatch line-up.
The original Apple Watch Ultra came with a 49mm titanium body and Always-On Retina LTPO OLED display with the ability to show up to 2000nits of brightness. It also features a tough sapphire crystal screen to protect from scratches.
It came with a S8 chip, L1 and L5 GPS and 32gb of capacity so you can store all your music, photos and songs on your device on-the-go.
It was water resistant up to 100 metres which was a big selling point for the device which was also aimed at divers with a depth gauge included in the Apple Watch Ultra. It also features an emergency siren that can be used to alert people of your location if you get lost.
You also get more battery life included in the device which Apple claims can be used for up to 36 hours – meaning you can do a marathon or other long-distance sports without the worry that your battery will run out
It also came with all the beloved features of earlier Apple Watches including a blood oxygen sensor and electrical heart sensor.
Then came the Apple Watch Ultra 2 back in 2023 which saw small improvement to the watch. The Ultra 2 came with more storage, a brighter display and precision finding for your iPhone thanks to the new S9 SiP. The new Double Tap feature was also added to the Ultra 2.
We’ll elaborate further on the differences between the two watches later on in the article. You can also find out more about about why we gave the device five stars in our Apple Watch Ultra review.
The best Apple Watch Ultra deals
If you have been put off by the price of the Apple Watch Ultra – we understand. The initial price of the watch was a whopping £799 which put any customer off.
But now there are some great deals about – especially if you can get the older Apple Watch Ultra.
The best deal we have found is currently on Amazon for the original Apple Watch Ultra for £649 but we’ve regularly seen those prices drop.
That’s still a substantial amount of cash to drop on a smartwatch so if you want to spread out your cost, buying a watch on a pay monthly contract might be worth considering.
The best contract price we’ve seen is from O2 which is offering the Apple Watch Ultra for just over £20 a month for 48 months.
You get unlimited data with the device so you can enjoy listening to music while at the gym or on a run thanks to its mobile connectivity. You also get up to 4 months free Apple Fitness+ to really kick start your fitness journey.
Should you get an Apple Watch Ultra or Ultra 2?
When it comes to either the Ultra 1 or the Ultra 2, you will probably be paying a lot more for the newer version especially if you’re looking for a competitive price.
In our opinion, you probably don’t need the Ultra 2 unless you need to get the most up-to-date tech on the market.
And when it comes to the best deals, you should be able to find good deals on the original Apple Watch Ultra compared to its newest counterpart but they can be hard to come across.
The only major differences between the Ultra 1 and Ultra 2 is a brighter screen and the bigger storage which probably isn’t worth paying extra for. There's also the new Double Tap feature included only on the Ultra 2. It isn't a game-changing change but might be worth considering if you're choosing which watch to buy.
