A TikTok user shared a "genius" hack that allows you to find lost videos in mere seconds - and it's being hailed as a "game-changer" by people online.

If you're an avid TikTok user, you'll know the frustration of accidentally refreshing your For You page and losing a hilarious video you wanted to share with friends.

However, thanks to this hack, those days are over.

In a video posted by @trifidmedia, a woman named Haya acted out a scenario where she was watching a video but accidentally refreshed the page before she finished, causing the video to be lost.

Another woman, Jana, then explained how to retrieve the watch history with just a few simple steps.

She said: "So we're going to go on TikTok, and then we're going to go on our search page.

"Type in a period [full stop] and click search. Then you're going to get the option to view your watch history right away. Click on it, and it's going to show you the most recent videos you've ever watched. And there you have it."

We put the hack to the test and can verify it's effective - but it's not the only method to access your watch history.

You can also navigate to your settings and proceed to the Activity Centre, where you'll find options such as your watch history, comment history, search history, and any posts you've recently removed.

Employing the technique shown in the video certainly requires fewer steps than going through the settings, and social media users have praised it as a "game-changer" for those who spend hours scrolling through TikTok.

One user exclaimed: "Love this! Much better than faffing around going into settings."

Another was astonished: "Whaaat?! It's a game changer."

Meanwhile, a third commented: "That was very helpful!"
