Would you buy a £1.2m bra? Victoria's Secret unveil this year's fantasy lingerie
THE underwear giant has created two fantasy bras, which will be worn by Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio at the catwalk show in December
For the first time ever Victoria's Secret have created two bejewelled showstopper bras, worth an eye-watering £1.2 million ($2 million) each.
And Angels Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio have been tasked with wearing the fantasy pieces.
Both bras were designed by Mouawad jewellers and took 1,380 hours of craftmanship to make.
They are handset with rubies, diamonds and sapphires, strung together with 18K gold.
While it is the first time the lingerie brand have commissioned two sets of fantasy bras, it is not the first time brunette beauties Adriana and Alessandra have had the honours of wearing one.
Adriana, 33, headlined the 2008 and 2010 show while Alessandra was chosen in 2012.
Speaking about their glittering role, Alessandra, also 33, said: “Words can’t describe how excited I was when I received a call from Victoria’s Secret to let me know that I would be wearing it."
While Adriana added: “This year was even more special because for the first time two of us would be wearing it.”
The fantasy bra is the highlight of the Victoria's Secret catwalk show, which takes place in London for the first time this December.
The luxury piece is available to purchase for up to a year after the show after which it is destroyed.
Other Angels who have been chosen to wear it include Candice Swanepoel in a £6.2m ($10m) bra in 2013, Miranda Kerr in 2011’s £1.5m ($2.5m) bra and Gisele Bundchen in 2000, worth £9.3m ($15m) the most expensive ever and 2005, in £7.8m ($12.5m) masterpiece.
