Meghan Markle's dad hits back at 'rot in hell' claims - 'a cruel lie'
MEGHAN'S father has hit back at claims she told him to "rot in hell" in a phone call before hanging up.
Thomas Markle pleas for daughter Meghan to 'reach out' to him
A US news magazine quotes "royal whistle-blowers" who allege the Duchess of Sussex ordered Thomas Markle, 74, to "stay out of her life" in the emotional exchange. But Mr Markle described the claims as "a cruel lie". He fumed to a friend: "Meghan would never, ever talk like that to me in a million years...I will always love my daughter and I know she loves me too - whatever happens."
He believes friends and aides of his pregnant daughter, 37, and Prince Harry, 34, are trying to shield them from her "hillbilly" American family by deliberately planting "fake news" stories to discredit them.
Communication between father and daughter broke down after he revealed the contents of a letter she sent him.
The friend added Mr Markle's "greatest wish is to reconcile his differences with Meghan and, eventually, reunite".
He was also "living in hope" he will get to meet his new grandchild.
