Work for the Queen! Her Majesty looking for 'ambitious' aide to travel with her
QUEEN ELIZABETH II and the Royal Family are looking for an "ambitious" pastry chef to accompany Her Majesty.
No Time To Die: Royal family arrive for world premiere
On the Royal Household website, a new position is being advertised with The Firm for a Demi Chef de Partie (Pastry). While the successful applicant would primarily report to work at London’s Buckingham Palace, they must also be happy to cook at other royal residences, like Balmoral and the Palace of Holyrood.
The job description calls for “an ambitious and qualified Pastry chef” to make “diverse menus for a wide range of events”.
It then says: “As you'd expect, standards and attention to detail are exceptionally high here, and every day is busy, so you’ll need to be an ambitious and qualified Pastry chef with at least a year or two’s experience.
“You may have some previous experience within a five-star kitchen or similar environment, but it’s your ability and enthusiasm to deliver efficiently across all aspects of the Pastry kitchen that we're looking for.
“You’re at your best working in a team, and with your strong communication skills and adaptability, you'll enjoy working alongside your colleagues.
“Most importantly though, you have a clear passion for food, in particular pastry, and will be eager to learn new skills.”
The chef would also have the offer of accommodation - "for which there is a salary adjustment " - and all meals provided.
A “comprehensive” benefits package was also on offer, including 33 days holiday, a 15 percent employer contribution pension scheme, and meals on duty.
Training and development has been encouraged and you would have access to a range of recreational facilities.
The closing date for applications is October 10.
No salary is mentioned but the package is said to be "competitive".

Former royal aides have spoken about how rigorous the application process is to work for The Firm.
Grant Harrold, butler to Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, from 2004 to 2011, told Town & Country magazine working for the palace was always his biggest career goal.
He saw the royal butler job advertised through an agency in London and applied, and added: "This led me to eventually meeting the Prince of Wales at an interview after a lengthy three-month or more process.
"I remember being nervous when I met the Prince of Wales, and he somehow managed to take the nerves away as we had afternoon tea and simply spoke to each other.
“I must have done something right that day as I was in a position very soon after."
Famous chef Gordon Ramsey also shared he once cooked for Princess Diana.
In the National Geographic series ‘Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted’, he said: “She, by far, was one of the most gracious members of the royal family I’ve ever met.”
Mr Ramsey added: “No airs and graces, security outside, she had the lunch menu and didn’t go a la carte.
“I think it was a pressed leek terrine and her main course was sea bass.”
