‘End of an era’ Clarence House Twitter account ‘retired’ after Charles proclaimed King
THE OFFICIAL Twitter account for Clarence House has been "retired" following Charles III's proclamation as King.

Before this, he resided in Clarence House, London.
Due to the move, the official social media account for the House has now been discontinued.
Its Twitter bio now reads: “This account is no longer being updated.
“Please follow The Royal Family [page] for updates on His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.”
The page had acquired more than one million followers.
Commenting on the news, writer Omid Scobie said: “End of an era.
“The Clarence House Twitter account has officially been retired now that Charles is King.”

It was previously the home of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother from 1953 to 2002.
Prince William has also now become the Prince of Wales, this title having previously been held by his father.

In his first speech as King, Charles III said: “As my Heir, William now assumes the Scottish titles which have meant so much to me.
“He succeeds me as Duke of Cornwall and takes on the responsibilities for the Duchy of Cornwall which I have undertaken for more than five decades.
“Today, I am proud to create him Prince of Wales, Tywysog Cymru, the country whose title I have been so greatly privileged to bear during so much of my life and duty.
“With Catherine beside him, our new Prince and Princess of Wales will, I know, continue to inspire and lead our national conversations, helping to bring the marginal to the centre ground where vital help can be given.”
A state funeral will now be held for the Queen on September 19, which will also be a bank holiday.
