Princess Kate and Prince William's secret getaway revealed amid hospital stay
The Prince and Princess of Wales were going to Italy, but there was another European destination on the royals' to do list.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have likely postponed their upcoming official trip to Italy, but there was reportedly another foreign visit planned.
Princess Kate is spending her seventh day in hospital after successful abdominal surgery at The London Clinic.
Kate and William were scheduled to make a high profile visit to Rome in the spring, but the plan may have been shelved as the princess is not expected to return to official engagements until Easter.
The Waleses were also due to visit Latvia, which borders Estonia, Lithuania, Russia and Belarus, to celebrate Britain's links with the Baltic country.
Kate will also miss this year's BAFTA awards ceremony on February 18, as well as the St. Patrick's Day parade and Commonwealth Day service.

The future Queen is said to be "doing well", but will remain in the exclusive clinic for 10 to 14 days.

William has stepped back from official duties for several weeks to juggle looking after their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, and care for his wife.
The family live in Adelaide Cottage in Windsor's Home Park and will be supported by their staff, including loyal, long-standing nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.

King Charles, 75, returned to Sandringham from Scotland last week, ready to undergo treatment for his enlarged prostate, but he missed a church service on Sunday (January 21).
The monarch, who has cancelled engagements and been ordered to rest, will be admitted to hospital for a corrective procedure for the benign condition.
Meanwhile, Sarah, Duchess of York, has been diagnosed with a malignant skin cancer which was discovered during her treatment for breast cancer, according to a spokesperson.
The melanoma was found after several moles were removed while she was undergoing reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy. Doctors are analysing it to see if it was caught early.
