Prince Harry and Meghan Markle send public plea to Netflix as contract runs down
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a lucrative deal with Netflix in 2020 following their departure from the Royal Family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have sent a public plea to Netflix as their contract with the streaming giant runs down.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a deal with Netflix in 2020 after stepping down as working royals and have since produced two documentaries for the platform.
The pair appeared at the premiere of Netflix rival Paramount Pictures' Bob Marley, One Love film on Tuesday night, marking their first public appearance of 2024.
And they were snapped smiling alongside Paramount and Nickelodeon CEO Brian Robbins in what looks to be a warning to Netflix that they will not be short of offers as a decision on their future looms.
Meghan and Harry are said to be working on a number of features for the streaming platform yet none have been promoted publically or given a release date.

It comes after royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams took aim at the couple's productivity during an interview with GB News.
Mr Fitzwilliams said: "They can turn it around if they come up with some work. The only thing they are doing as far as I can see with Invictus, Prince Harry already had that.
"So they have not done anything, they lost Spotify. Will they lose Netflix? The contract runs out in 2025. It is rather bewildering their silence."

In June last year, it was announced the Sussexes deal with Spotify to produce Meghan's Archetypes podcast had been cancelled.
Spotify bosses were reportedly underwhelmed by the series which explored stereotypes used against women.
Shortly after the decision, Bill Simmons, Spotify's head of podcast innovation and monetisation blasted the couple.
He said: "I wish I had been involved in the ‘Meghan and Harry leave Spotify’ negotiation. ‘The F*****g Grifters.’ That’s the podcast we should have launched with them."
