Meghan Markle warned she must 'play memoir right' to avoid being seen as 'whiny ex-royal'
EXCLUSIVE: Meghan Markle should avoid attacking the Royal Family in her anticipated memoir to turn her public image around, a PR expert has claimed.
Meghan Markle's potential memoir could "make or break" her and Prince Harry's public image so she needs to "play it right," a PR expert has warned.
Similar to the Duke's decision to write his 2023 bombshell memoir, Spare, Meghan has also been tipped to write her own book detailing her life as a royal in and out of the Firm.
Danielle Gober, a PR expert for Otter PR, told Daily Express US that Meghan could use the book as a way of turning around public perception.
Her comments come after a recent poll by Ipsos showed that the popularity of the US-based royal in the UK has plummeted with 47 percent of Brits asked saying they had an unfavourable view of the couple.
Gober claimed Meghan's book could help turn around negative opinion "if executed correctly, meaning, it's not a full attack on the Royal Family but rather a detailed account of Meghan's mental health while living at the castle, feeling isolated, feeling like she didn't belong, an American outsider wondering how she ended up a Duchess, that's more relatable to the average reader".

She added: "That's why people loved Diana; she was honest about her life and her struggles and went through it all so publically it was endearing and it will be hard for Meghan to replicate, but not impossible.
"A full attack against the family would result in more damage, especially if that attack has William, Kate, their children, or the late Queen in its crosshairs."
The PR expert said "playing this memoir right to the public will make or break Meghan and Harry's public perception in the long run."
"They cannot be seen as whiny, money-grabbing ex-royals, or they will not have the sympathy of the people any longer," Gober added.

As well as the possibility of a memoir by Meghan, the couple are also expected to star in another Netflix TV series after signing a £80 million deal with the streaming giant in 2020.
Before the book is released, or the couple goes on to star in any more shows, Gober advised them to lay low for a while.
She said: "They need to gather themselves, stay out of the royal's drama, and re-emerge in a year with the memoir, a new acting role, and aim to start over.
"If they keep plugging ahead as they have been, I don't see the controversy and general dislike about them going away any time soon."
