Prince Harry and Meghan: 'Permanent UK return' only possible with William's blessing
A royal expert has claimed that patching things up with Prince William is the only way back for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Jennie Bond: It will be hard for William and Harry to 'patch' relationship
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle need Prince William's blessing if they wish to return to the Royal Family fold, according to a King Charles's former butler. The Duke of Sussex made a whirlwind trip to London last month to see his father after learning of his cancer diagnosis, but did not see his older brother during the trip.
It is understood that Harry and William are not on speaking terms and have had a strained relationship over the past few years.
However it may not be too late for them to make it up, as Grant Harrold told the New York Post: "It’s difficult to say given everything that has gone on and the trust that has been broken down whether they could return as full-time royals, but I’ve always said if Harry did return to the UK, it is possible.
"[Harry] could have a discussion with his brother about resuming his royal duties, but obviously there is so much that has happened over the last couple of years and that needs to be sorted out before the Sussexes made a permanent return.
"I don’t think it would be impossible — when I was working for the Royal Family, I saw how close William and Harry were, I don’t think that’s a relationship that is too far gone to be healed or fixed."

Prince Harry warned he needs to do ‘penance’ after realising major thing about America
Prince Harry should do "penance" for criticising his father and his brother, Prince William, in his tell-all memoir, Spare, claims a royal photographer.
Arthur Edwards, who has been a royal photographer at The Sun since 1977, spoke to the outlet about the additional troubled relationship between Harry and his wider family: "There doesn’t seem to be such a strong feeling between them anymore. I think the King is angry about what was said about his wife, what was said about his eldest son William and Catherine."
He added: "I think Harry has got to do a lot of penance personally."
It comes as the photographer believes Harry thinks living in America "is not as sweet" as he originally thought it might be due to the pressure of having to think about money.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as working royals in 2020 and relocated to Montecito in California, where they have set themselves up as financially independent from the Firm.
Since the start of 2024 Harry and Meghan have launched a new Sussex.com website, with their rumoured new projects in their pipeline seemingly moving away from their royal life, although they still frequently use their royal titles.
However royal expert Angela Levin has claimed that Americans are getting tired of the couple's "hypocrisy", as she told The Sun: "I think endless moaning puts off Americans because they like people who are go-getters rather than those who blame everyone else."

"This feud has gotten so unseemly and out of hand, it’s starting to overshadow his reign and the entire monarchy. He wants to heal the rift once and for all."

Describing it as "unusual", the photographer said that the Duchess of Sussex was noticeably more "tactile" than he originally thought she would be.

Meghan Markle urged to relaunch her Instagram to show 'life behind the scenes'
EXCLUSIVE: Meghan Markle has been advised to use her social media to promote her work by a PR expert.
The expert has said that the Duchess of Sussex could show people what she is "really like" and make herself appear more relatable.
Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR told Express.co.uk: "She can leverage the media as a platform to promote her work instead of giving explosive interviews about her time in the Royal Family, which might attract juicy gossip.
"Also, opening up on her Instagram account and showing the public what life is really like behind the scenes, instead of the polished front she puts on, would make her more relatable.
"Taking these values onboard can help Meghan endear herself to the UK public."
'Possible' Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will return to the UK permanently, expert says

Speaking to the New York Post, former royal butler Grant Harrold said: "It's difficult to say given everything that has gone on and the trust that has been broken down whether they could return as full-time royals, but I've always said if Harry did return to the UK, it is possible.
"I saw how close William and Harry were. I don't think that's a relationship that is too far gone to be healed or fixed."

Luana Ribeira, PR expert and founder of Dauntless PR, told Daily Express US: "I think deep down a large part of the British public is rooting for Prince Harry and Prince William to rediscover the closeness they once had.
"Whether there is any truth in it or not, people are quick to blame Meghan for their fractured relationship - making her into a sort of royal Yoko Ono figure.
"For Meghan, it would be a good move for her to take a leading role in helping bring these brothers back together so they can support their father together."
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's rude swipe at royal reporters after 16-day tour
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry once had a very awkward encounter with a royal reporter after their 16-day tour in Australasia in 2018.
Valentine Low told the latest episode of HELLO!'s A Right Royal Podcast: "We were flying from Tonga back to Sydney. And often on these tours, there comes a point towards the end, when the royal might come back to the back of the plane and have a chat with us off the record, you know, not for printing, but it's a way of making bonds.
"It's a way of keeping us sweet. It's a way of having informal contact. And we were promised that he or they would come to the back of the plane, and it didn't happen. It didn't happen and this was a four or five-hour flight, 'When's this gonna happen?'"
He added: "Then we were buckling up for the descent and we landed. And it hadn't happened. And only after we landed, they came back into the back of the plane.
"And Harry was slightly in front of Meghan, she was slightly behind him. And she didn't say much.
"She did make some strange remark about us wanting to get back for our Sunday lunch. And it was completely bizarre. But it’s what he said that was memorable.
"He said, 'Thanks very much for coming, even though you weren't invited.’ And we thought, 'What?'"

Prince William's specific move shows 'significant' hostilities with Prince Harry
Prince William appears to have shown "significant" hostilities towards his younger brother Prince Harry with one key move.
Speaking in a recent ABC documentary about the Royal Family, royal commentator Victoria Murphy has said: "I thought it was really interesting not just that William didn't want to see Harry when he came over to the UK, but he was happy for people to know that he had no plans to see him.
"I think that says a lot about how significant those hostilities still are."
Meghan Markle's one-word response when asked about first time meeting Princess Kate
Meghan Markle was first introduced to Princess Kate not long after she started dating Prince Harry.
While it is now understood that the pair never really saw eye-to-eye, during her engagement interview in 2017 Meghan was very positive about the experience.
Prince Harry said about the meeting: "It was exciting I mean I've — you know I'd been seeing her for a period of time when I literally didn't tell anybody at all. And then William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine, so you know, being our neighbours, we managed to get that in a couple of — well quite a few times now and Catherine has been absolutely…"
Meghan then chipped in: "Wonderful."
Meghan and Harry 'omitted one key word' from Archie and Lilibet's title announcement
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released a statement last March confirming that their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet would use their royal titles.
The children were eligible to use them if they chose once their grandfather King Charles became monarch.
Around the same time it was announced that Prince Edward would be given the title Duke of Edinburgh.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Mirror: "The contrast between the way in which Harry and Meghan released the news of their children's royal titles and the way King Charles announced his brother's ennoblement was stark.
"King Charles issued a formal statement from Buckingham Palace to say he was 'pleased' to confer the Dukedom of Edinburgh upon The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Forfar.
"It was such a grand announcement it felt as if it were in a gilded frame pinned to the Buckingham Palace railings. Harry and Meghan on the other hand asked their spokesperson to announce when their daughter Lilibet was christened in Los Angeles she would be baptised using the royal style princess. Archie in turn would use the style, Prince."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can 'restore public image' with help of Diana's legacy
Tamara Colbert from MTG Media told Daily Express US: "If I were Harry and Megan's Publicity Agent, I would advise them to focus on rebuilding and nurturing relationships with both their personal connections and the wider public.
"Reconnecting with the public on a more humble and relatable level could help restore their lustre and align their public image more closely with the legacy of Princess Diana's compassion and humanity."
Prince Harry 'putting pressure' on Meghan Markle to return to UK
A royal expert has claimed that Prince Harry's desire to return to the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games later this year is "putting pressure" on Meghan Markle.
Harry is more keen to return than Meghan, who reportedly never felt at home in Britain and would never want to come back given the choice.
Royal author Tom Quinn told The Mirror: "The Invictus Games - it's one of the few areas of Harry's life where he feels on firm ground.
"There's no doubt that helping disabled soldiers is a good thing, and it's something that Harry has tried to do without it becoming all about him, so it's good for brand Sussex but only if Meghan is also there. So he is definitely putting pressure on her to join him."
"This is causing huge tension in the couple's relationship. Omid Scobie's book Endgame tells us that Meghan never wants to visit the UK again, but she now realises with the Games coming up and her father-in-law seriously ill that you should never say never."
