Princess Kate revealed Prince Louis' liking for this vegetable during an appearance on TV alongside Mary Berry.
Princess Kate revealed Prince Louis has taken a shining to a certain root vegetable in a 12 word long admission on TV.
The then Duchess of Cambridge shared the detail with Mary Berry in an appearance on a Christmas special presented by the former Great British Bake Off judge. During filming for the show, Kate said: "We've got carrots, beans, beetroot - a massive favourite - Louis absolutely loves beetroot."
Kate joined Berry in the kitchen to prepare a thank you dinner for people who work and volunteer over the festive period.
It also emerged in the show that one of Prince Louis' first words was "Mary" as at the time he was at the same height as Kate's cookbooks.
The royal told Berry: "One of Louis' first words was 'Mary' because right at his height are all my cooking books in the kitchen bookshelf."

She explained how children are fascinated by faces and Berry's face is all over her books, adding: "He would say, 'That's Mary Berry'... So he would definitely recognise you if he saw you today."
While Louis likes beetroot, his older brother, Prince George, has enjoyed making pizza and pasta.
Matthew Kleiner-Mann, Chief Executive at the Ivy Learning Trust told reporters during a royal visit to Lavender Primary School that Kate said her children love cooking.
Mr Kleiner-Mann, quoted by Hello! magazine, said: "She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how much they cook for her. They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff."

Kate revealed on another royal visit how the younger Waleses like to make pizza and get their hands messy. The Princess of Wales is believed to enjoy a varied diet, including kidneys, curry and sticky toffee pudding.
She told a care home resident during a visit to Oxford House Nursing Home in February 2023 that she loved kidneys.
A former chef at the Old Boot Inn in the Berkshire village of Stanford Dingley, believed to have been one of Kate's favourite pubs, told People magazine the royal's favourite dessert was sticky toffee pudding.
And on a visit to Birmingham early last year, it emerged both Princess Kate and Prince William enjoy curry. Kate said she "loves spice" while the Prince of Wales revealed he liked milder options, saying: "I'm a masala man."
