Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have 'no genuine pathway back' as 'bridge of trust burned'
EXCLUSIVE: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have had a fraught relationship with the Royal Family ever since they stepped back from their official roles.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be easily welcomed back into the royal fold after they caused "deliberate damage" with allegations they made since quitting their roles, a PR expert has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex delivered a series of hammer blows to their relationship with the Royal Family as they opened up about the alleged treatment they were subjected to while working for the monarchy.
The pair repeatedly claimed they received no support from royal aides to address growing public pressure, with Harry doubling down with attacks on the King and Prince William in his memoir Spare last year.
Speculation has been rife in recent months about the Duke trying to reconcile with his father following his recent cancer diagnosis.
Despite Harry returning to the UK this week for the anniversary of the Invictus Games, he confirmed he will not be meeting with Charles during his stay.
PR expert Renae Wąsik told the Daily Express it is unlikely peace will be forthcoming as she noted the "bridge of true trust" between the Sussexes and the Royal Family was "burned" long ago.
She said: "As for reconciliation between them and the family, my gut tells me no.
'There may eventually be a need to publicly smooth things over, but it seems that bridge for true trust and reconciliation has been burned.
"Harry and Meghan have caused deliberate damage to the institution, so a genuine pathway back isn't likely."
While she conceded the Duke could bury the hatchet with his family on a personal level, she argued the same courtesy might not be extended to Meghan.

Wąsik added: "Even if Harry reconciles from a familial angle, I don't see it extending to Meghan, as she isn't considered "family" by the Royal Family and has shown no interest in the working side of her previous role."
The Duchess of Sussex also appeared to indicate she is not ready for a reunion with Harry's family as she did not join in on his visit to London this week.
Meghan will instead reunite with him in Nigeria, where the pair will be guests of the country's military chief as they attend a series of cultural events in connection to the Invictus Games.
Nigeria was among the latest countries to join the sports competition last year and its officials have suggested they would want to host the games sometime in the future.
