A royal expert believes King Charles has "reached his limit" with the feud between himself and Prince Harry as he tries to repair their relationship.

Father and son have been embroiled in a bitter relationship since Prince Harry revealed shocking details about his life with Meghan Markle in the Firm in televised interviews and his bombshell memoir, Spare. The couple have repeatedly spoken about life inside Palace walls before they stepped down as working royals in 2020 and eventually moved to California in the USA.

As reported in the Mirror, royal expert, Tom Quinn said: "Charles feels he has made a huge effort to repair his relationship with his son, but that Harry refuses to budge. With this in mind, Charles is changing his approach."

He added: "The new strategy is to take a tougher stance with Harry; shifting from good cop to bad cop. However, palace insiders agree that Charles is at the end of his tether. He yearns for reconciliation with his son, but nothing seems to work."

Royal fans hoped for a reconciliation between father and son when Prince Harry visited the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games on May 8.

However, there was no meeting between him and Charles. At the time a representative for Harry said: "It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty's full programme. The Duke of course is understanding of his father's diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon."

Sources close to the Palace say the King offered Harry a royal home to stay in during his trip before he decided to stay in a hotel instead.

Royal protocol dictates that the royals and the Home Office must be informed of a potential visit by the Duke of Sussex 28 days in advance in order for security measures to be discussed.

Harry last saw the King back in February when he flew over from Los Angeles last minute to see him upon learning of his cancer diagnosis.

However, during Harry's recent UK visit he did not even meet his brother, Prince William, leaving speculation about their future relationship unresolved.

Following the news of Kate Middleton's cancer treatment, reports suggest that Harry and Meghan privately "reached out" to the Wales family, additionally sending a public message expressing their support for Kate.

Meanwhile, a royal expert has claimed Prince Harry's only way to fix his deeply damaged relationship with his father, King Charles, would be if he did it in private without the media knowing.

Veteran royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told the Mirror: "The only chance of any progress being made in improving relations is surely to do so in private.

"If Harry would fly over and nobody would know or be told, some progress might actually be made."
