Prince William may follow King Charles's decision when it comes to Royal Family balcony appearances, it has been claimed, by only allowing 'working royals' to participate in major royal events.
Royal commentator Richard Eden reported a friend of the Prince of Wales claimed the royal is in "full agreement" with the King about a "slimmed-down monarchy".
The expert opinion has been shared following His Majesty's official birthday celebration at Trooping the Colour on June 15, when all working members of the Royal Family stood on the balcony to watch the RAF flypast.
A source speaking to the Daily Mail said: "When the older members of the family retire, His Royal Highness won't be inviting anyone else to become working royals.
"It remains to be seen if he will even want his two younger children to be working royals."

Mr Eden suggested William could take some inspiration from smaller reigning families in Europe: "He sees the small European monarchies as the model for the future."
At Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012, the monarch only allowed Charles, Camilla, William, Kate, the Princess of Wales and Prince Harry to watch the fly-past from the balcony which was interpreted as a symbolic display of the future of the monarchy.
But Mr Eden questioned the plan as he suggested the public might have thought that Buckingham Palace balcony had been "left with the wide empty spaces" when instead it should be filled with "smiling faces of younger royals".
He continued: "It would be a mistake for William to continue with his plans for a radically slimmed-down monarchy when Harry and Meghan are no longer there to support him.
"Instead, he should ask his cousins, such as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsor and the Earl of Wessex, to share the burden with him when the time comes."

Even as the Prince of Wales, the King was vocal about his desire for a "slimmed-down" monarchy, which would see fewer working members of the Royal Family and a less costly institution.
Charles's former royal butler, Grant Harrold, previously explained: "He has very carefully and dignifiedly slimmed down the monarchy to what he classifies as the core family and that will only get smaller as sadly his royal cousins die off."
"They won’t pick people to step in, I think it will become a slimmed-down monarchy as he has always wanted."
King Charles's youngest son, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle's absence has been heavily noted over the years as they both stopped being working royals after stepping back in 2019.
The King's brother, Prince Andrew did not get on the balcony either, as he was forced to step back over his controversial relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
