Princess Anne eats bananas in a very bizarre way that might make your stomach churn
Princess Anne reportedly eats bananas every morning as part of her healthy breakfast - but not in the way many would expect.
Princess Anne is known for her no-nonsense approach to life, which has contributed to making her a much-beloved member of the Royal Family.
But the way in which she reportedly begins her days may leave some of her fans horrified.
The Princess Royal likes to eat a bowl of fruit for breakfast. What could make the meal slightly stomach-churning for some is that Anne likes her bananas extremely ripened, according to former royal chef Darren McGrady.
He previously told Today: "[Princess Anne] almost always preferred the bananas almost black - overripe - because they digest easier."
While an overripe banana isn't the most appetising, studies have shown that starch and chlorophyll in this fruit break down into sugar when it starts to brown. This makes bananas much sweeter and tender, perfect for baking.

Moreover, antioxidant levels increase as bananas age, according to an article on Spoon University.
Princess Anne, often described as the hardest-working member of the Royal Family for the huge number of official engagements she carries out every year, is currently recovering at Southmead Hospital in Bristol after suffering minor injuries and concussion following an incident at her Gatcombe Park estate.
The Princess Royal, who is believed to have been kicked by a horse, is "recovering slowly", according to her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
Sir Timothy spoke to people outside the hospital on Wednesday after visiting his wife for two-and-a-half hours.

When asked whether his wife would leave hospital the same day, he said: "She'll be out when she's ready."
Sir Timothy had already visited Princess Anne on Tuesday - as did her daughter Zara Tindall, who stayed with the senior royal for more than an hour.
Upon sharing the news of the incident on Monday, Buckingham Palace said the royal was expected to stay in hospital until later this week as "a precautionary measure for observation".
The incident forced Princess Anne to postpone several engagements, including the state banquet hosted by the King for the Emperor and Empress of Japan and a visit to Canada.
