There are many rules that the Royals must follow. These range from what type of clothes they have to wear, how to speak, how to act, and even how to travel.

What’s more, it’s previously been reported that Prince William and Princess Kate run a pretty tight ship at home with their own strict set of rules for the children Prince George, 11, Charlotte, nine, and Louis, six to abide by.

Now fans of the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, and Charlotte think they’ve spotted a quiet struggle between the mother and daughter over how best to wear the little girl’s hair.

Filmed at last month’s Trooping The Colour, fans of the royals were delighted to see Kate and her family out together following her cancer diagnosis.

The 42-year-old took some much-needed time away from public duties to recover but thrilled the public by appearing on the balcony with her family. It was during this time that a video was taken showing the mother-of-three repeatedly pulling her daughter’s long hair over her shoulder.

Sharing to social media, one user commented: “Charlotte trying to wear her hair in front.” It then showed a compilation of scenes where Kate would bring her little girl’s tresses back over her shoulders. The touching display between mother and daughter delighted fans with many commenting that it was exactly how they would act too.

While another responded to the video: “This is literally me all the time and my mom just puts it back.” While someone else wrote: “Same charlotte .. it shapes my face.” And a fourth person added: “My mom says it’s cause she wants to see more of my beautiful face.”

Some people questioned whether it was a ‘Royal’ rule to follow but others felt it was just a ‘mum’ thing. One person wrote: “Let’s be honest… mothers do this regardless of being royal or not. They prefer it a certain way, they gonna make you do it.”

Although they do have the help of a nanny, the royal couple is still very hands-on with their children and are said to love taking part in activities such as bike riding and baking. But it's not all fun and games for George, Charlotte, and Louis as William and Kate reportedly lay down some household rules at their home Adelaide Cottage in Windsor - including one that must be adhered to at all times.

And according to a source, this rule is one they are strict on following - there is to be no shouting in the house. The insider told the Sun: "Shouting is absolutely 'off limits' for the children and any hint of shouting at each other is dealt with by removal."

But rather than be sent off to their bedrooms or to the naughty step when they act up, the royal couple have a different technique - the sofa chat. The source added: "The naughty child is taken away from the scene of the row or disruption and talked to calmly by either Kate or William. Things are explained and consequences outlined and they never shout at them."
