Tips for grandad-to-be Prince Charles
PRINCE Charles might well need a stiff drink for what lies ahead after stunning a ladies’ circle yesterday by asking them for advice on being a grandparent.
Charles met them during a visit to a namesake pub, the Prince of Wales, at Kenfig, South Wales.
After trying half a pint of locally brewed Prince of Wales ale, he asked: “Any hints on grand-parenthood?”
Eileen Joseph, 74, advised: “Spoil them and enjoy it, but give them back at the end of the day.”
Charles, 64, agreed and praised his grandmother, the Queen Mother.
“The great thing is to encourage them – show them things to take their interest,” he said. “My grandmother did that, she was wonderful.”
Bookmakers claim that more than £1million has been bet on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby, a record for a Royal event.
