Time for a burger! Pippa Middleton takes a pit stop during US bike challenge with James
SHE may have been riding a bike for several days but Pippa Middleton still managed to look good as she took a pit stop in Missouri on Wednesday.
The younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge is currently taking part in a 3,000 mile bike challenge in America which will see her cross 12 States in just eight days.
Pippa, 30, and her brother James set off on the bike ride on Saturday night and by Wednesday afternoon, they were clearly in need of a break.
The pretty brunette showed off her slim figure in her red, white and blue cycling wear and was more than happy to pose for a photo with a young fan named Lisa Terbrock.
According to onlookers, Pippa then urged her to cheer on her brother James as he rode by sporting a very bushy beard.
The pair then decided to grab some food at a nearby fast food restaurant before jumping into a black vehicle and driving off, no doubt for a rest at a nearby hotel.
The siblings set off from San Diego in California on Saturday night and are part of the 275-strong group of competitors hoping to make it to Annapolis, Maryland.
The strenuous endeavour, which has been completed by fewer than 200 individuals in the race's 32-year history, will see Pippa and James cycling along roads which climb to a height of more than 100,000 feet. They will also have to get by with very little sleep over 12 day event.
According to reports, Pippa has been training for the epic challenge for quite some time and in January she revealed that she had purchased clip-in shoes which allow her to pedal faster.
Writing in her Daily Telegraph column, she said: "The major advantage of clip-in (or ‘clipless’, their proper and confusing name) bikes…is that because the shoe is attached to the pedal you can pull up as well as push down.
"This makes a huge difference to power and efficiency and goes some way to explaining the warp speed of many urban cyclists."
