Right royal party! Countess of Wessex helps the Brownies celebrate their 100th birthday
THE Countess of Wessex today invited 50 lucky Brownie members to enjoy a tea party fit for a princess at Buckingham Palace.
Sophie, along with her daughter Lady Louise Windsor, who is herself a Brownie, helped the thrilled competition winners celebrate the group's 100th birthday in style.
The Countess, who is President of the Brownies, looked relaxed and content in blue print trousers and a navy blouse complete with a gold Brownie logo.
Her daughter seemed excited to be part of the celebrations and proudly displayed her impressive amount of Brownie badges.
The sun shone as the winners enjoyed playing giant games of Jenga and Connect Four on the Palace lawns.
They even had the chance to play tennis with professional player Laura Robson.
The sports star is not taking part in this year's Wimbledon due to injury, meaning that she was free to attend the tea party.
The Brownies, founded by Robert Baden-Powell, were originally called 'Rosebuds' but were renamed a year later.
As of 2014, around a quarter of all eight-year-old girls in the UK are Brownies.
