BBC's Laura Kuenssberg exposes Corbyn ally who admits Labour now in turmoil over Brexit
BBC NEWS editor Laura Kuenssberg exposed a Jeremy Corbyn-supporting Shadow Cabinet MP for admitting that the party is currently in turmoil.
Labour MPs are 'very downhearted' says Laura Kuenssberg
BBC’s political editor Laura Kuenssberg explained that the “chaos” of the Labour Party conference has detracted away from the many issues and policies the party is attempting to convey to voters. While on the Today Programme she argued that Party conferences are a great opportunity for parties to show that they are ready to take on the responsibility of being in Number 10. However, Ms Kuenssberg noted that Labour members and an unnamed Shadow Cabinet MP believe the Party is currently "in a bad place".
The political editor said: “As we have been hearing from Rebecca Long-Bailey this party has got big ambitious plans that they would like the opportunity to bring in.
“Whether that is on their green new deal or abolishing prescription charges.
“There is a big policy menu there that they want voters to hear and understand.
“But this sort of chaos on the conference floor yesterday over the Brexit vote and the show of hands and this sort of pantomime.

“It would be pantomime if it wasn’t a massively a serious position for this political party to take.
“I have to say that behind the scenes while Rebecca quite rightly doesn’t want to put too much faith in the polls, most Labour MPs and a lot of members you chat to are very downhearted on what has been going on.
“They think there is all this noise on Brexit, but also just the infighting and the unhappiness has been profound.
“As we were saying yesterday, these conferences are meant to be a big glossy advert for parties that are on the verge of moving into Number 10.

“One member of the Shadow Cabinet who is loyal to Jeremy Corbyn just said to me, while shaking their head, that we are in a really bad place.”

Emily Thornberry came under fire earlier this month for attempting to explain the Labour Party’s plan of action if the party came into power.
She explained that the Labour Party would seek to negotiate a new deal with the European Union and then hold a second referendum.
However, the criticism came after Ms Thornberry admitted that the Party may campaign for Remain ultimately fighting against their newly agreed deal.
