Anger at £30,000 plan for race 'myth-buster'
A COUNCIL is planning to employ a £30,000-a-year “mythbuster” to counter negative thoughts about migrants.
The authority has already taken on a £100,000 “credit-crunch buster” to help firms survive the economic crisis.
The latest post advertised by Lancashire County Council was branded a scandalous waste of taxpayers’ money. But the council argues that the myth-busting project manager will promote “community cohesion” in the county.
Critics said it was another example of politically-correct “non-jobs”, which cost taxpayers £600million a year.
Susie Squire, of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “The best way to bust myths is to provide good public services.”
