LAURA KUENSSBERG has warned Sir Keir Starmer of the potential fallout of his decision to sack Rebecca Long-Bailey.
Rebecca Long-Bailey sacking causing ‘tension’ says Kuenssberg
The BBC's Political Editor stated Ms Long-Bailey's sacking as Education Secretary will cause bitter tensions to reopen within the Labour Party. However, Ms Kuennssberg added the Labour leader's backers are pleased with his decision to take decisive action when faced with anti-Semitism.
Ms Kuenssberg said: "Keir Starmer said during the Labour leadership campaign that getting rid of anti-Semitism in the Labour Party was his number one priority.
"He believed it was the right thing to get Rebecca Long-Bailey out if she refused to delete the tweet which she did.
"His backers are very pleased, they say that this shows his actions match up to his words.
"It was something that was so toxic for Jeremy Corbyn under the Labour Party.

"It caused such trouble and agony in the Labour Party and among many voters of course in Jewish groups, that him moving swiftly was the right thing to do.
"The risk is and we are already seeing it, is that it reopens some of those bitter tensions in the Labour Party that have been under the surface rather than all over the newspapers."
Yesterday the Labour leader has asked his former leadership rival to stand down as Shadow Education Secretary.
The decision was made after the Salford and Eccles MP shared an article which contained an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory.

"Anti-Semitism takes many different forms and it is important that we all are vigilant against it."
