M25 traffic latest: M25 lane CLOSED after serious crash – police & ambulance rush to scene
A SECTION of the M25 has been closed following a serious crash, with emergency services rushing to the scene.
M25: Delays reported on motorway following incdient
Kent Online has reported a lorry and three cars have been involved in the collision on the section of the M25 and has warned of delays in the Dartford Tunnel.
The website wrote: "An accident involving a lorry and three cars in Essex could cause delays if you're heading through the Dartford tunnel.
"One lane is closed anticlockwise between Junction 30 (Lakeside) and Junction 29."
Highways England said several of the emergency services are rushing to the scene.
The service wrote on Twitter: "The #M25 anticlockwise #J30 (#A13 #Lakeside #Tilbury) to #J29 (#A127 #Romford #Basildon) 1 lane has been closed due to a collision.
"Traffic Officers @EPRoadsPolicing @metpoliceuk @EastEnglandAmb @Ldn_Ambulance & Recovery are on their way to the area."
Several motorists had been left wondering why there are huge tailbacks and increased travel times.
One person wrote on Twitter their Sat Nav maps were showing heavy traffic and extended travel times of more than an hour.
They said: "@HighwaysEAST any news on the M25 clockwise in Surrey this morning?
"Maps showing loads of red and orange and travel times more than hour extra?"
A short while later, Highways England tweeted the closed section of the M25 had been reopened, with all lanes running as normal.
The traffic service tweeted: "The #M25 anticlockwise #J30 (#A13 #Lakeside #Tilbury) to #J29 (#A127 #Romford #Basildon).
"All lanes are now running as the vehicle involved in the earlier collision, have been moved to a safe location by Traffic Officers at scene."
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.15am today (3 July) to reports of a road traffic collision on the M25 near junction 30.
“We sent a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene.
“We treated two men at the scene but neither were taken to hospital.”
