Wrexham CHAOS: Armed police descend after 'serious assault' - teen suffers severe injuries
AN 18-year-old man has been taken to hospital with "serious injuries" after being attacked in Wrexham today.

North Wales Police said that the teenager was attacked near Morrisons in Ruthin Road in the town just before midday. It has not confirmed what the man was attacked with, by whom or if there have been any arrests
In a statement the force said: "Police are investigating a serious assault that happened shortly before midday today in the vicinity of Morrisons supermarket in Wrexham.
"Officers attended the incident, along with colleagues from the ambulance service, in which an 18-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries."
Pictures on social media revealed that a police helicopter was dispatched shortly after the attack unfolded.
One Twitter user shared snaps of the aircraft circling and questioned what its crew were doing.

He wrote: "Chopper still hovering over 4 hours after what had happened. Seems like they are still searching for those involved in the earlier incident."
Others shared their hopes that the victim recovers.
One wrote: "Hope this poor lad pulls through."
A second posted: "Hope this young person has a speedy recovery."

Meanwhile a third said: "This has got to stop. So said that this is happening. Hope the lad is OK."
Others wondered what had happened to the victim and claimed that violent incidents were increasingly occuring in the town.
In its initial statement, North Wales Police said: "We are investigating a serious assault that happened shortly before 12pm today near Morrisons in Wrexham.
"You may see an increased police presence this evening whilst our enquiries continue.”
It later added more detail to reveal that a teenage man had been the victim.
An updated statement read: “Police are investigating a serious assault that happened shortly before midday today in the vicinity of Morrisons Supermarket in Wrexham.
"Officers attended the incident, along with colleagues from the Ambulance service, in which an 18-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“Please be aware that there will be an increased police presence in the area this evening whilst our enquiries into the incident continue.
"We are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about this incident to get in touch with us via our website or by calling 101 and quoting ref z119739.”
