A COACH driver died and six people were injured following an accident on the M25 yesterday.
The driver is thought to have suffered a suspected 'medical episode'/File photo
The 78-year-old man was driving a Mercedes-Benz bus when it veered across the motorway before hitting the central reservation and coming to a stop on the hard shoulder near Staines, Surrey. The driver is thought to have suffered a suspected "medical episode" and died at the scene.
Six passengers on the coach - four young women and two teenage girls - suffered minor injuries.
PC Jonathan Housby, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said the tragedy was not being treated as suspicious.
He added: "I'd ask anyone with a dash-cam who was in the area just prior to, or at the time of the collision, to check any footage in case it could help our investigation."
