Medic in 105mph road rage horror
AN ANGRY motorist chased an ambulance for three miles at up to 105mph and through a red light before attacking the driver at a hospital, a court heard.
Road-rage driver Joe Coxs had tried to ram the ambulance because he thought he had been cut up.
Coxs, 22, admitted he put lives of motorists at risk when he chased and attacked ambulance driver Gordon Pincock, 41.
Frightened Mr Pincock, who did not have a patient in his ambulance, put his blue lights on to try to escape. But Coxs chased him for three miles until the paramedic stopped at the hospital. Coxs attacked him but staff called police.
At Warwick Crown Court Coxs, of Nuneaton, admitted dangerous driving and common assault. He was sentenced to eight months jail suspended for two years, banned from driving for 12 months, ordered to do 150 hours unpaid work and fined £250.
