Gay police officer in court on rape charges
A POLICE officer and former Mr Gay UK appeared in court yesterday charged with raping a man and attempting to rape three others.
PC Mark Carter, 27, who has been suspended from the force, also faces a charge of possession of a banned bodybuilding drug, Stanazol.
He is alleged to have committed the offences at a Leeds hotel in December last year.
Yesterday he was released on bail by Leeds magistrates and will return to court next Tuesday. Carter, from Huddersfield, West Yorks, was crowned Mr Gay UK in a flamboyant ceremony four years ago and won £5,000 prize money.
