Norwich house deaths: Horror as two young girls, a man and woman found dead in house
A major investigation has been launched after the discovery of four bodies from the same family inside a home.
Four bodies, including those of two young girls, have been found at a house near Norwich after police were alerted by a member of the public, officers have confirmed. Police forced entry into the property in Allan Bedford Crescent, Costessey, and found the bodies of four people inside.
A police cordon remains in place this afternoon, after being erected at around 7am alongside a forensics tent. Detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team are leading enquiries, with residents now seeing a large police presence in the estate.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Burgess, from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, told reporters this afternoon that they found the bodies of a 45-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman and "two young girls" from the same family. He said formal identification is still to take place.

Chief Inspector Burgess also revealed that of the four people who died, three lived at the address while another was there "non-permanently".
He said that the police were called to the same house in December as part of a missing persons inquiry, adding that this call-out will be re-examined.
The detective added: “Our investigation is in the very early stages and this is clearly a very distressing and tragic incident.
“While we’re following a number of lines of enquiry, at this time we believe this is an isolated incident.

Speaking to the BBC, a resident said police were not letting people leave their homes.
A 32-year-old man who lives on an adjoining road told Norwich Evening News: "When I was dog walking this morning I saw the cordon at about 8am.
"This is a very quiet neighbourhood and I’ve never seen anything like this before here.
"This is something like you see on the TV I suppose, so it seems all quite surreal."
Daniel Seeley, who lives near the house where the bodies were found, told the BBC: "Absolutely shocked.
"Things like this don't happen on this estate. It is a quiet estate."
Another local, Caitlyn, 17, said it was "scary" to see "loads of police were circling the area" near to where she lives.
