A migrant has been stabbed on a small boat crossing the English Channel today, with UK authorities launching a major rescue operation.
A Border Force ship and two lifeboats rushed to the scene after the horrifying attack just before lunchtime on Wednesday. Seven other small boats also arrived on UK shores on the busiest day of Channel crossings in 2024 so far.
The victim was taken to Dover's harbour after being transferred from the dinghy - carrying around 60 people - to the Walmer lifeboat.
One eyewitness - a GB News producer - captured footage of the terrifying incident as an ambulance arrived at the harbour to deal with the casualty. The seriousness of the migrant's condition has not yet been revealed by the emergency services, GB News reports.

The man has been taken to hospital with injuries which are not described as life-threatening and officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances, including where, when and how the injuries were sustained."
