A woman has revealed how her neighbour has chosen a wild name for their first child by deciding to name the infant after their favourite animal.
Taking to the social media platform Reddit, the person revealed her neighbour had declared without any sign of it being a joke that she wanted to call her newborn Lioness.
Explaining how she was stunned by the decision and sharing her concerns for the reactions the name may get, a woman asked others on Reddit what they thought of the name choice.
She wrote: "For a little context she's obsessed with everything lionesses, and I mean lionesses like female lions, not like the soccer team.
"She has like three tattoos of a lioness, she has a car sticker with a lioness, etc."

At first the woman explained she had thought her neighbour might choose a name inspired by the female big cat, explaining there were "logical ones" such as "Leonie and Leona".
But she said her neighbour, who was eight months pregnant, had said "straight up" that Lioness would be the name she was going to call her first born child.
She added: "With the straightest face. I overheard the conversation and was trying to stop myself from laughing."

Hearing the woman's story and the decision made by her neighbour many people had their own opinions if the name was a wise one to give a child.
One person simply wrote, "Poor kid".
Another said there were plenty of names that took inspiration from lions that could have worked better, with another person responding: "Ariel, meaning 'Lion of God,' was right there. So was Lea, a feminine form of Leo. Heck, name her Kiara, after Simba’s daughter from The Lion King II."
Someone else pointed out: "Leona literally means lioness."
"She should be friends with the woman who wants to name her baby Nala", joked a third.
