An incredible new “20-minute” seaside town is being built near a huge UK city.
The settlement, in Granton, is set to spring up from nothing offering easy access to the city and a coastal position on the Firth of Forth.
City of Edinburgh Council is pressing on with plans for a £1.3 billion 'sustainable' town at Granton Waterfront, less than four miles from the city centre.
As well as 800 new homes (35 percent of which will be affordable), the development includes capacity for a new primary school, commercial units and public and open spaces.
The plans also include restoring the iconic Granton Gasholder into a public park and refurbishing historic buildings such as the former Granton Station.

The development is described as a "20-minute neighbourhood" which means major and essential amenities such as shops and leisure facilities are all within a short walk of where residents live.
The proposal might not be to everyone's tastes, however, with critics saying such plans are an attempt to stop people from leaving their local area.
Plans for the city’s largest brownfield site have now been submitted to the council for the community.
Council leader Cammy Day said: "We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a 20-minute neighbourhood completely from scratch which includes affordable net zero homes, shops, cultural, leisure and education facilities all close by.
“Our plans show how the new neighbourhood will link to the rest of the city and beyond as well as to the many established communities nearby."
Fraser Lynes, managing director of Cruden Homes, which will build the houses on the site, said Granton is "set to become one of Europe's largest waterside amenities" that "reconnects the Capital to the Firth of Forth".
