The UK is home to a number of stunning seaside towns, but this remote one only has 19 homes and rarely any tourists, so visitors can enjoy the goregous sandy beach in peace.
Clashnessie on the north west coast of Scotland is a tiny community with a beautiful beach that has its own micro-climate as it's so close to the Atlantic Ocean Gulf Stream.
Clashnessie Bay, named one of Britain's "best secret and remote beaches", is clean and quiet all year round, making it the perfect place to get some rest and relaxation on a staycation.
It's a short drive from the famous Achmelvich Bay, but a much quieter alternative that does not disappoint when it comes to its natural beauty.
Families will also love this remote Scottish town as the rocky inlet along the sandy beach is a great place for kids to explore.
Visitors can also take a short walk along the coastline to marvel at Clashnessie Falls, a 15-meter waterfall splashing down from the lochans above.
Clashnessie is a crofting community which is a landholding system unique to Scotland which means that everyone who owns a croft - a relatively small agricultural land holding - must cultivate and maintain it or to put it to another purposeful use.
It means residents enjoy secure tenancies, fair rents, and compensation for permanent improvements through the generations-long cultural tradition.
The town is also on the North-Coast 500 road trip route - a 516-mile scenic drive around the north coast of Scotland, starting and ending at Inverness Castle.
The route, launched in 2015, links many features of the Scotland's north Highlands in one impressive touring route. It covers stunning coastal scenery, white sandy beaches, mountains, and remote fishing villages.

One person wrote on Google reviews: "Stunning location, had to stop to take a few photos! This was one of the most stunning drives we have ever been on, every turn is a photo opportunity."
Another said: "A stunning, white, sandy beach hidden away in the far north-west of Scotland. Reached by a must drive road around the Stoer peninsula, every bend reveals another amazing vista. Virtually uninhabited for 95 percent of the year, once visited, never forgotten!"
