Locals slam ‘crazy’ decision as 'It's Coming Home' song banned ahead of Euros final
EXCLUSIVE: The famous song will be blaring out and sung by millions of England fans ahead of the crunch Euro 2024 final against Apsin on Sunday.
Locals have slammed a shopping centre's "crazy" decision to ban the "It's Coming Home" song ahead of Euros 2024 final.
As excitement builds ahead of England's Euro final against Spain on Sunday night, many will be singing the iconic chant that has become synonymous with England’s international football pursuits.
However, the chant has seen mixed fortunes over the years and the Eden Shopping Centre in High Wycombe has taken the drastic measure and banned the song within its premises and store radios.
The Eden management team believes this bold step will help avoid any potential jinx and help the national team’s chances of bringing home the coveted trophy.
Linda Daisy from Air Raid Shelter Cafe and Tea Room in High Wycombe called the drastic decision "crazy".
Speaking to Express.co.uk she said: "That song is iconic and generates real excitement and great atmosphere anywhere it’s played.
2Even if we lose it still would have lifted the mood of England before the game. Surely that can’t be a bad thing."
However, the shopping centre believes the song "might inadvertently place undue pressure on the team or tempt fate".
