Serial killer nurse, Lucy Letby, has reportedly formed a friendship with fellow child murderer Sian Hedges in Bronzefield Prison, Surrey, according to an insider. The pair are said to spend their time watching "crime" and mystery TV shows such as The Traitors.
An informant told The Sun: "They watch TV a lot together, including stuff like The Traitors, and crime shows."
Lucy Letby, 34, was handed 14 whole-life sentences in August 2023 after being convicted of seven counts of murder and seven attempted murders of infants. Meanwhile, Hedges, 27, who is allegedly Letby's new companion, is serving a life sentence for the murder of her 18-month-old son, Alfie Phillips, who was found with numerous bruises, broken bones, and traces of cocaine and alcohol in his system.
In their Surrey prison, the duo have access to amenities such as an en-suite, desk, phone and TV. The source added: "They are on a really nice block, with individual cells with en-suite and TVs with more than 100 Freeview Channels plus radio."
During her hearing in December, the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Fitness to Practice panel concluded that Lucy Letby had caused harm to patients, tarnished the reputation of the profession and violated fundamental principles of the profession. Letby committed her crimes in the neonatal unit of the Countess of Chester Hospital where she worked from June 2015 to June 2016.
She denied all charges and refused to attend her sentencing at Manchester Crown Court.
Hedges and her former partner, Jack Benham, were both handed life sentences at Maidstone Crown Court this month, with minimum terms set at 19 years for Hedges and 23 years for Benham.
The duo was convicted of the murder of Alfie following a nine-week trial that concluded with a unanimous verdict delivered in less than 10 hours by the jury.
During the trial at Maidstone Crown Court, it emerged that Alfie had tragically lost his life after spending a night with the couple in a caravan in Kent amidst the 2020 Covid lockdown.
Prosecutor Jennifer Knight KC told the court: "It is clear that Alfie was deliberately injured on more than one occasion, culminating in an assault perpetrated during the night that led to his death."
In a poignant statement, the devastated father of Alfie Phillips expressed that his family's life had been shattered by the heinous murder of his son.
