Colin Firth drops Clegg
Nick Clegg’s Lib Dems were last night mourning their biggest desertion yet after celebrity backer Colin Firth withdrew his support.
The actor, Mr Darcy in a TV adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, admitted being disillusioned with the centre party over their coalition with the Tories.
Mr Firth, 50, said he was frustrated over their policies on “tuition fees and things” now they were part of the Government.
Mr Firth’s desertion follows a massive backlash against the Lib Dems since the Coalition deal.
