Huge rise in house husbands
STAY-at-home dads are now the primary parent in one in seven households.
The number has soared ten-fold in a decade to at least 1.4 million.
A further 25 per cent of families share parenting equally, up from 18 per cent last year.
A quarter of men resigned or went part-time after the birth of a first child, while 44 per cent regularly babysit, insurer Aviva found.
But one in seven admits it’s tougher than going to work.
Aviva said: “Childcare costs mean many families feel it’s not worthwhile both parents working, so it’s no surprise to see more men taking up the reins.”
