Court eviction move to oust St Paul's rabble tomorrow
ST PAUL’S could reopen to the public tomorrow after it was revealed the protesters are facing a legal challenge.
City of London officials confirmed they are planning court action to have the anti-capitalist campaigners evicted under laws governing ancient highways.
The move represents a swift victory for the Daily Express, just a day after we launched our “Boot Them Out!” crusade to reclaim the Cathedral in time for Remembrance Sunday next month. The Dean, the Right Reverend Graeme Knowles, said he was “optimistic” that St Paul’s would reopen after “significant changes” to the layout of the camp.
He said: “Subject to us getting the green light, we hope to reopen in time for the 12.30 Eucharist on Friday to which everyone is welcome.”
Councillors are expected to be briefed today on moves to obtain a High Court injunction ahead of a public announcement tomorrow.
Councillor Alex Deane said: “I am delighted the Daily Express has shown such leadership on this issue and am really proud to support the Crusade.

“It would be a disgrace if people who gave their lives for freedom in their country are not properly commemorated because of the actions of these self-appointed protesters.”
