AA man is rescued...by the RAC
THE AA had to summon its arch rival the RAC for a tow after one of its cars broke down.
The drama happened after an AA Driving School instructor had a puncture during a lesson and found the car did not have a spare wheel.
The AA’s breakdown service was asked to help but apparently refused. But the leasing company that owned the stranded Ford Focus was covered by the RAC, which sent a van to the rescue in Bonnyrigg, near Edinburgh.
RAC spokesman Pete Williams said: “The AA Driving School vehicle, like so many new cars coming off the production line, was not carrying a spare. A lot of drivers are caught out that way.
“The driving instructor called the AA but for reasons unknown to us it was not prepared to come out.
“We happily obliged. I’m sure the AA now regrets not helping its driving school.”
The AA made no comment.
