Probe into Canada-bound British Airways jet forced to U-turn
A CANADA-bound British Airways plane with nearly 200 passengers had to return to Heathrow yesterday due to a “suspected technical problem”.
Flight BA93 circled over South Wales to burn off fuel before making a safe landing about three-and-a-half hours later.
The Boeing 767 had its undercarriage down – probably to create extra resistance to use more fuel.
BA booked passengers on to another plane for Toronto – and a probe is now underway.
A computer glitch at the National Air Traffic Services base at Swanwick, Hants, led to delays yesterday for thousands of outbound flights in the South.
