Life for jealous fire killer
A JEALOUS boyfriend who torched his girlfriend’s home killing three generations of a family, including his daughter, was jailed for murder yesterday.
Kayleigh Buckley, 17, her six-month-old daughter Kimberley and her mother Kim, 46, were trapped as the blaze engulfed their home.
Carl Mills was found guilty of the triple murder and told he would serve at least 30 years.
A jury at Newport Crown Court heard how baby Kimberley who had been born prematurely was allowed home on September 18 last year.
Today we feel justice has been served
Mills, 28, had not been invited to a celebration after he sent his partner threatening text messages convinced she had another man at her home in Cwmbran, South Wales.
One said: “I will burn your house down.”
Mills turned up and started a fire in the porch which spread to the stairs and cut off all escape routes.
Neighbours urged Kayleigh to jump but she refused to leave her baby.
Mills denied the murders saying he was in a pub.
A statement from the family said: “Today we feel justice has been served.”
